When the Body Remembers: Trauma-Informed Homeopathy

  • Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy 7300 Metro Boulevard Edina, MN, 55439 United States (map)

Tuesday, June 16, 2026 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm (Central Time)
With Deborah Walters, biological scientist, clinical homeopath, and NAH alum
Offered BOTH online AND in-person

Past, present, and future students are invited to attend.

This seminar, offered in-person and remotely, trains homeopathic practitioners to recognize and respond ethically and skillfully to trauma in their clients. Through an integration of trauma neurobiology, somatic regulation tools, and homeopathic philosophy, participants will learn how trauma imprints both psyche and soma, alters remedy pictures, and shapes healing trajectories. The class emphasizes safety, boundaries, and co-regulation, with practical approaches for case management when trauma or abuse is suspected.

Learn how trauma is experienced in diverse ways through the lens of different remedies.  Have capacity to distinguish between remedies for acute trauma, and chronic history.

Deborah Walters, biological scientist and clinical homeopath
I am a healthcare practitioner trained in biological science, trauma-informed care, and integrative health. My work integrates evidence-informed approaches to help individuals understand patterns beneath symptoms and navigate complexity across biological, emotional, and environmental systems. My formal training includes a Master of Biological Sciences from the University of Minnesota with specialization in microbiome research, developmental psychology, and neuroscience. I obtained clinical training in homeopathy, and a Doctorate in Naturopathy. I am the author of an internationally selling book, The Supreme Remedy. Over fifteen years, I delivered lectures at international conferences, panel discussions, and educational programs, including courses through the University of Minnesota scholars program on the biology of aging and the microbiome-gut-brain axis (MGBA). In my teaching, I aim to bridge scientific understanding with practical application, helping students develop a deeper understanding of psychology and the physiological systems that influence healing and recovery.
